Updated Cisco vendorMacs.xml
Stop seeing “Unknown” as the vendor for half your clients.
Cisco Prime Infrastructure and the Wireless LAN Controller ship with a vendorMacs.xml that has not been refreshed in years, so most modern devices resolve to Unknown. This is the same file, regenerated from our full IEEE import.
40,131 24-bit vendor prefixes. Rebuilt September 12, 2026.
Installing it
- Download the file above.
- On Prime Infrastructure, upload it under Administration → Settings → System Settings → Client and User → Vendor MAC Address.
- On a WLC, copy it to the controller via TFTP and reload the vendor list.
The format matches Cisco's expected schema: one <VendorMapping> element per OUI, with mac_prefix and vendor_name attributes. Only 24-bit MA-L assignments are included, because that is all the Cisco parser understands.
